1. Who can use the CGA Rider?

The CGA Rider is exclusively available to members of the Creators Guild of America (CGA). If you’re not a member yet, you can join quick and easy, by visiting the Apply section of our website.



2. Is there a fee to use the CGA Rider?

No! The Rider is a free resource for active CGA members, brands, and agents. The CGA’s mission is to support ethical and fair practices without adding financial burdens.



3. Where is the CGA Rider valid?

The Rider is designed for use in the United States only. It ensures compliance with U.S. laws and regulations.



4. How does the Rider benefit creators?

The Rider protects your rights, by ensuring timely payment, credit for your work, and limits the misuse of your likeness or deliverables, amongst other fundamental protections. It’s your safeguard against unfair practices.



5. How does the Rider benefit brands and agents?

The Rider promotes clear expectations, establishes basic contractual clauses, and eliminates unnecessary negotiations. By using it, you show a commitment to ethical and transparent partnerships, which strengthens your reputation in the creator community.



6. What happens if someone violates the Rider?

The CGA takes violations seriously. If a brand or creator breaches the Rider, they will receive up to three warnings. Repeated issues may result in a recommendation to avoid future collaborations or business. This helps maintain a trustworthy ecosystem for all members.



7. Do creators need to notify the CGA when using the Rider each time?

No, however, creators should notify the CGA of any breach, by logging into their Dashboard and reporting an issue. This ensures the CGA can assist in upholding the terms if needed.



8. Can brands or agents request changes to the Rider?

No. The Rider is non-negotiable to ensure consistency and fairness. Both parties can focus on the creative work instead of lengthy contract discussions. Our current version of the CGA Rider (v1.2), may be updated to reflect industry changes.



9. How should the Rider be added to a contract?

The Rider should be attached as an addendum to your contract. Include a clause in the agreement stating, “The terms of the CGA Rider are incorporated by reference and shall govern in case of any conflict.”



10. What kind of projects is the Rider suitable for?

The Rider can be used for any creative project, from sponsored content to endorsements and beyond. It’s a flexible tool designed to protect creators while supporting ethical collaboration.
